This was my thesis project when graduating from Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Illustration program in 2021. I am currently working on expanding this project further!

This zine provides a sample portfolio for a project I hope to initiate nationwide. This project will have me exploring questions I have for our country, local communities, and individuals. Through this inquisitive lens I would like to triangulate the 3 coasts that kiss Canada’s shoreline, learning about and exploring historical, pivotal locations, while also absorbing and journaling the beauties embedded in each corner of this land, and its people.

For this zine, I interviewed some acquaintances and close ones in order to put together a sample portfolio for this project, with the goal of producing a painting (or 2) for each interview.

The focus of this project is to gain first hand experiences, stories, and perspectives across Canada, and later, reflect on and reiterate that information collected in the form of reportage illustration.

Reaching out to my community, interviewing, and collaborating with them to make this zine has been insightful, inspiring, and honestly fun! I definitely hope to continue this work, collaborating with more friends, family, and strangers.

A Rusty Tinmaiden (ART) was my narrative thesis project when graduating from Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Illustration program in 2021.

In this poetic collection, I depicted a Tinmaiden in a world that parallels both our reality, and my own. By deriving content from my journals and sketchbooks, using metaphors for the symptoms and experiences I have with my physical disability, I hope to offer a sense of connection with my viewers; I see these experiences as relatable amongst all sorts of mental and physical illnesses.
